Hiking Through Sukkot
Look closer. Think deeper. Give thanks.
Your complete trail game is here. Form a mixed-age team, choose an adventure when it fits your day, submit your discovery, and finish together.
Welcome, traveler
Begin the game here
You do not need a printed guide. This page contains the instructions, seven walks, extra activities, safety rules, proof form, and scoring system for the entire week.
Game rules, proof choices & scoring
What you need
One phone per team and an internet connection. No paper, art kit, or printed game card is required. Enter your discovery and Scripture response in the online form; add one photo or short video if it helps tell the story.
What wins the challenge?
Every entry is judged by four equal standards: Scripture—thoughtful biblical connection; Effort—the whole team truly participated; Creativity—memorable, original presentation; and Stewardship—park rules, kindness, inclusion, and care for creation were followed. Each earns up to 10 points.
Our trail promise
We finish together. We make room for younger explorers. We observe without damaging living things. We ask before photographing people. Every team can earn an award—Trailblazer, Creation Observer, Creative Storyteller, Good Shepherd, or One People.
The seven walks
Choose any walk at a convenient time. The walks stay open all week. Each has three missions and one optional Kingdom bonus.
People on the Path
Gather skills, stories, Scriptures, and blessings instead of objects.
Open the Word
Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 • Hebrews 10:24–25
Ponder: How did another camper make your journey stronger or more joyful?
Receive a skill, nature fact, memory, song motion, Scripture, or blessing from another camper.
Pass a different gift to the next person.
Document at least four links in your chain with permission.
Kingdom bonus
Reach seven people or families while making sure every age is represented.
Show us a zany example
Zany example: Build a chain from frog-call imitation to knot lesson to Scripture motion to campfire-story sound effect.
Beyond the walks
Extra camp activities
Use one phone per team for these optional online challenges. The Gratitude Walk is a separate offline activity for any age; any notebook will do.
Spot the WayPath Adventure Cart
The decorated cart will make its rounds at Sukkot, serving others and making new friends. When you see it in person, say hello and ask for the next clue in the biblical Feast Trading Card game. This is a fun extra when you happen to spot the cart; you do not need it to complete the seven walks.
Game highlights
What we’ll celebrate
Look for Creation Finds, Community Builders, Young Explorers, team humor, Scripture insights, and quiet acts of service. Submissions go privately to the organizers for review; camper photos are not posted publicly by this game.
Choose an activity above, send your team’s entry, and keep the same team code all week. Leaders can share selected highlights in person with permission.
Tonight at the fire
Stories, thanks & team recognition
Gather by the fire to hear His praises and share how Yah has been faithful. Bring a thankful thought, a praise report, or a sketch from any notebook—whatever helps you tell of the Father’s blessings. His Word is sweet like honey (Psalm 119:103), and He cares for His children (Matthew 6:26). Children who share may find honey sticks, Hershey’s Kisses, or a heavenly hug; other sweet treats may be available too. Remember the sweetness of a good Father to His children. The Gratitude Walk stays offline, and the online game remains open at your convenience.
Ask camp leaders for the gathering time and location each evening.
Bring your own printed companion
Hiking Through Sukkot field journal
The illustrated 16-page field guide from our Sukkot study is ready to print before camp. It follows the Feast, the Four and Seven Species, Harrison Bay wildlife and water, seven days of adventures, a surprise cart clue, offline notes, and a closing reflection. It is an optional keepsake; campers can play the full online game at their own pace without bringing a journal.

Print the illustrated field journal
This PDF is already arranged two journal pages per side. Its eight PDF pages print on four Letter sheets, front and back. The folded booklet has 16 illustrated pages in reading order.
- Choose Letter paper, landscape, and actual size (100%).
- Print on both sides; choose flip on the short edge.
- Leave pages per sheet at 1 and turn off your printer’s booklet setting—the PDF is already arranged for folding.
- Fold each sheet at the center marks and nest the four sheets with the cover on the outside. Staple along the fold if you like.
Taste & See · Gratitude Walk (offline)
Young or old, take any notebook on a slow walk. Write, draw, or simply remember a blessing, a kindness, or a way the Father cared for you. His Word is sweet like honey (Psalm 119:103); Psalm 34:8 invites us to taste and see His goodness. Bring a thankful thought or praise report to share by the fire if you wish. This walk needs no phone, team code, or online submission; the illustrated field journal is an optional companion.

Look closely at Harrison Bay

Wings & water
Look for bald eagle, osprey, great blue heron, waterfowl, painted turtle, bullfrog, dragonfly or water strider. These are observation possibilities, not promised sightings. Identify a behavior or habitat clue from a safe distance.

Four & seven species
Four Species: etrog, palm, myrtle and willow (Leviticus 23:40). Their heart, spine, eyes and lips associations are traditional teaching pictures. Seven foods of Israel: wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives and dates (Deuteronomy 8:8). Look for local echoes without identifying Tennessee plants as the biblical species.
Honor the park
Stay with your group and on approved trails. Observe from a respectful distance. Never touch, feed, chase, call, collect, or disturb wildlife. Take only photos and leave only thanks. Ask permission before photographing another camper.
